I want faithful love more than I want animal sacrifices.

The Bible shows that adultery is a serious sin because is the breaking of the promise we have with God. The bible say that this is the same relationship that Israel had with God when they start worshiping false idol. Hosea saw this action as adultery. But God punished them for breaking their covenant with him. God gave the Israelite's the opportunity to repentant.
God does the same thing with us when we sin. When we sin and repent and return to God, He will restore our relationship with him. God place in our heart the need of getting to know him and acknowledge him in the way we live.
What consequence of sin have you observed
The bible tell us that the payment for sin is death. But God gives us the free gift of life forever in Christ Jesus our Lord. Roman 6:23.
This doesn't refers to a physical death but with a spiritual death and a separation of your relationship with God. But God give us the opportunity to repent from our sin and reconcile with him.
Unfaithfulness is tragic and can destroy relationships. God is merciful and gracious. If your are distancing from God go to him and asks for forgiveness. God always ready to forgive and restore you.
